Songs #1-6, 8 were recorded by Paul Campagne at Studio King in Montreal, Canada over the course of a year. Paul, a gifted singer (of Hart Rouge fame), as well as a multi-instrumentalist, lent his vocals and a range of instruments, including bass, percussion, guitar and mandolin, to several songs; He was joined by his Juno-award winning wife, and Canadian singer-songwriting institution (not to mention fabulous cook), Connie Kaldor (www.conniekaldor.com) who sang as well as played piano, organ and accordion. It was a family affair, with Paul and Connie's kids, Gabriel and Alexsie, and their friends also lending their voices to the production, and their brother-in-law, Davy Gallant adding touches of flute, guitar and horns as well as doing the final mastering at his studio (www.doggerpondmusique.com). The other three songs (#7, 9 and 10)were pulled from Eleni's previous CDs recorded by Doug Messenger at Harddrive Studios in L.A. All in all, this is one joyous, heartfelt CD that reflects the spirit of love, support and friendship that surrounded its creation, with songs that will make you think, feel, and sing along. The third in a trilogy co-produced with the gifted Doug Messenger and recorded as live as possible in his North Hollywood studio. Spare in production, but rich and lush in tone. Eleni's well-honed ability with comedy is fully in the forefront on this disk, as well as her deft, thoughtful way with a ballad. And, as always, her strong, supple voice leads out. Accompanied by the tastefully restrained playing of L.A. studio great Greg Liecz on lap steel and acoustic guitar, Ernie Nunez (Brian Setzer Orchestra) on upright bass, with the merest touches of percussion, accordion and blues harp. Eleni's voice leads out in all its clarity, purity and power.
